Transactions exceeding USD 3.7 billion
Ian Timis is a natural resources executive and strategic adviser working across mining, energy and infrastructure. He has contributed to transactions and project developments exceeding USD 3.7 billion across Africa, Europe and North America, operating at the intersection of capital markets, project delivery and governance.
His work has centred on structuring institutional partnerships, supporting capital formation and advancing resource assets through key stages of development, from early positioning through to financing and execution.
He is known for aligning technical, operational and financial stakeholders, enabling progress in environments where complexity, jurisdictional risk and execution challenges might otherwise constrain development.
Since 2019, he has operated independently across critical minerals and energy-transition opportunities, advising on and investing in projects requiring disciplined capital allocation and governance.
He holds a BA (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Westminster and a CISI Level III certification in UK Financial Regulation.
Chief Executive Officer
Ian Timis has led the development of an investment platform focused on energy-transition-linked natural resources and infrastructure, originating opportunities and structuring institutional-grade investment cases across a pipeline exceeding USD 250 million.
His work has included capital allocation frameworks, sovereign engagement and permitting strategies designed to preserve long-term asset value and enable disciplined deployment of capital across complex jurisdictions.

Ian Timis served as Director of Mergers and Acquisitions, and played a key part in the company’s capital markets strategy and cross-border expansion across West Africa. His work supported a USD 750 million capital raise and a dual listing on the ASX and Oslo Børs, as well as the structuring of joint ventures designed to balance capital efficiency and geopolitical risk.
Vice President
Ian Timis contributed to the advancement of a multi-asset gold platform across Greece and Romania. His involvement supported over USD 1.2 billion in equity and project financing and the company’s acquisition by Eldorado Gold in a transaction valued at USD 2.3 billion, with a focus on maintaining regulatory and operational continuity through integration.
Alongside his executive roles, Ian Timis has acted as an independent strategic adviser across mining, energy and capital markets, supporting the development and financing of large-scale resource assets in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments.
Independent Adviser
Ian Timis acted as an independent adviser during the development of the Tonkolili iron ore project in Sierra Leone, one of West Africa’s most significant mineral discoveries.
At its peak, African Minerals was listed on the London AIM market and reached a market capitalisation of approximately USD 3.5 billion, reflecting the scale of the project and associated infrastructure development.
The operation employed more than 6,800 people and contributed to a period of rapid economic expansion, with Sierra Leone’s GDP growth reaching approximately 30 per cent in 2012, as recognised by the IMF.
His involvement supported governance frameworks, investor confidence and operational alignment during a period of large-scale development and post-conflict reconstruction.
Senior Adviser - Natural Resources & Capital Markets
At Arlingron Group, Ian served as a senior adviser on natural resources and capital markets strategy for real assets investments, with a focus on the energy transition and infrastructure-linked investments.
His work contributed to capital formation initiatives totalling approximately USD 250 million, including engagement with institutional investors and the development of investment frameworks to support disciplined deployment across complex asset classes.
He supported the structuring of investment propositions, valuation methodologies and risk-allocation models, enabling alignment between investor expectations and underlying asset performance and strengthening positioning across electrification and critical minerals supply chains.
